雅思小作文中倍数表达

一、首先说最常见的三种：

倍数＋原级 倍数＋比较级 倍数＋名词短语

例如: 和---三倍一样长

1. three times as long as

2. three times longer than

3. three times the length of

再如：和---四倍一样宽

1. four times as wide as

2. three times wider than

3. three times the width of

举例说明：

1.“A be 倍数 as 计量形容词原级 as B”。

This tree is three times as tall as that one.

这棵树是那棵树的三倍高。

His father is twice as old as he.

他父亲的年纪有他两倍大。

2.“A be 倍数 计量形容词比较级 than B”

The Yangtze River is almost twice longer than the Pearl River.

长江差不多比珠江长两倍。

The dictionary is exactly five times more expensive than that one.

这本字典比那本恰好贵5倍。

3.“A be 倍数 the 计量名词 of B”

The newly broadened square is four times the size of the previous one.

新扩建的广场是未扩建时的四倍大。

4.“The 计量名词 of A be 倍数 that of B”

The size of the newly broadened square is four times that of the previous one.

新扩建的广场为以前的四倍大。

5.其它I‘m twice/double his age.我的年龄是他的两倍。

I‘ve paid five times the usual price for the stamp.

我出了5倍于往常的价格买这枚邮票。

点评：在中文中，人口比例是主语，在英语中比例不要做主语，要用常见的物、人等作主语。

3、Class A has twice/five times as many students as class B.

注意倍数的表达法，Class A has many students.--->Class A has twice/fivetimes as many students as class B.在表示大小多少这样的形容词（big、large、many、much、small ect.）前面加上 倍数和as（five timesas），在最后句号前面加上相对于谁，用as B表示。

例如：

Wind turbines in UK generated a lot of electricity.

Wind turbines in UK generated  ten times asmuch electricity as wind turbinesin the Netherlands(orHalland,表示荷兰，荷兰有两种表达方法，一般国名前不加the，但Netherlands这种表达方法需要加the，还有两个地方前面需要加the，一个是菲律宾 thePilippines，还有一个是什么岛，忘了 )，这句话意思是英国风力发电量是荷兰的10倍。看，汉语中发电量是主语，而英语中是一个具体的事物比如这儿的风车做主语。

这句话后面部分比较啰嗦，应该为：

Wind turbines in UK generated nearly ten timesas much electricity as those in Halland.

这句话的被动语法表达为：

Nearly ten times asmuch electricity was generatedby wind turbines in UK as those in Halland.
